The Emerald Family Medicine clinic is now hiring for a motivated and adaptable Medical Assistant or Ambulatory Care Aide!

Position Summary & Highlights

  • $1500 Sign-On Bonus Offered to external Medical Assistant candidates!

  • This position will work with a busy Family Medicine Physician Assistant, but will also work with other MAs and providers as well in a care team environment.

  • The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group on Emerald near Curtis Road provides family medicine, occupational medicine, and urgent care services just one block away from the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. From preventive screenings to chronic disease diagnosis and management, our providers are committed to keeping you and your family healthy.

Medical Assistant

  • What You Will Do:
  • In addition to primary MA duties, you will also perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, and prep injections.

  • You will assist with minor procedures, complete POC and other tests, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox.

  • An ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, is adaptable and dependable.

  • You also like working in a strong team environment, have effective communication skills, and have solid critical thinking skills.

Ambulatory Care Aide

  • What You Will Do:
  • You will escort patients back to exam room, perform vital signs checks (temperature, blood pressure, height/weight) and maintain a clean, safe, well-stocked clinical area, including patient examination rooms and equipment.

  • Based on clinic needs you may perform clerical functions including appointment scheduling, prior authorizations for insurance, process insurance forms, new patient referrals received from other clinics, and tracking for laboratory/diagnostic tests and new patient referrals.

  • Based on clinic needs you may complete tests, screenings, and identified procedures on patients after competency validation for the ACA position.

  • An ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in and learn about a patient care role, have strong self-initiative and communication skills, enjoy being part of a supportive team, and willing to assist in all areas of the clinic.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, Mondays
  • Fridays, 8:00am

  • 5:00pm, during training, but then will move to a 4 - 10 hour schedule.

  • 6051 W. Emerald Street, Boise, ID 83704 (near the Boise Regional Medical Center
  • I-184 and Curtis Road)

Medical Assistant Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • *MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • *For new MA graduates, minimum of 100 hour externship or MA work experience is required, even with certification.

Ambulatory Care Aide Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
