The Saint Alphonsus Karcher clinic is now hiring for a PRN Medical Assistant to work in their Urgent Care POD!

Position Summary & Highlights

• This position will work in the Urgent Care clinics at our Karcher (Nampa), Elm (Caldwell), and Star clinic locations as needed (see scheduling information below).

• You will also have the opportunity to pick up additional shifts with other Urgent Care locations in the Treasure Valley when available.

• This position will work with a variety of providers and other MAs and RNs in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do:

• In addition to primary MA duties, you will also perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, and prep injections.

• You will assist with minor procedures, complete POC and other tests, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox.

• An ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, is adaptable and dependable.

• You also like working in a strong team environment, have effective communication skills, and have solid critical thinking skills.

Work Schedule:

• This position will ideally work 3 shifts per month, when available. May include advanced scheduling or reaching out for sick calls.

• We are looking for availability Monday

• Sunday, available for at least two to three days per week.

• You will work 12 hour shifts, primarily 8:00am

• 8:00pm, but some clinic locations work 7am

• 7pm or 11am-11pm.

Orientation and Training:

• Will be at least 2-3 full days each week in the first two weeks, plus self-paced e-learning.

• Includes EPIC Training, Quality Orientation, POC test training, and immunization training.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

• American Medical Technologists (RMA)

• National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

• American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire

• For new MA graduates, minimum of 100 hour externship or 6 months of MA work experience is required, even with MA certification.
