The role you'll contribute:

The MA Clinical Coordinator, under limited supervision, is responsible for providing hands-on clinical care to patients as well as training, directing, and guiding back office staff in monitoring and expediting workflow. This position helps in ensuring the back-office operations of the office function smoothly and that staff are adhering to clinical policies and procedures. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodates services for the physicians and the practice, following established standard, practices, policies, and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

o Manages the physician office/department in a cost-effective, efficient manner assuring that staff provides high quality care in a courteous and friendly atmosphere.

o Regularly reviews billing practices to assure physician and office reimbursement is appropriate.

o Assists the Practice Manager and/or Director of Practice Operations in preparation of annual budget, as requested.

o Prepares, updates and tracks department schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage in practice including on-call schedules, PRN staffing and PTO days for employees and physicians.

Leadership/Supervisory:

o Assists with patient experience needs and mastermind ways to improve the quality of patient care provided by the facility.

o Completes Team Huddles to present current data and assist in action planning.

o Attends POC meetings.

o Precepts new clinical staff through skill validation.

o Contributes to the growth of the practice by managing patient flow and recommending follow-up visits if needed.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  • Minimum qualifications :

o High school graduate or equivalent required.

o Completion of a accredited course in Medical Assisting or Licensed Practical Nurse.

o Current, valid CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS).

o 2 years of practical medical assisting experience AND one of the medical assistant certifications listed below:

o Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:

o American Association of Medical Assistants ("AAMA") for Certified Medical Assistants

o American Medical Certification Association ("AMCA") for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification

o American Medical Technologists ("AMT") for Registered Medical Assistant

o National Association for Health Professionals ("NAHP") for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant

o National Center for Competency Testing ("NCCT") for National Certified Medical Assistant

o National Health Career Association ("NHA") for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

o American Registry of Medical Assistants ("ARMA")

  • Knowledge and Skills Required:

o Proficient ability to utilize numerous technology software, such as the Electronic Health Record (EHR), Word, Excel.

o Leads in a practice council or taking an AdventHealth Leadership/preceptor class.

o Completes Preceptor class(es).

o Strong aptitude to multitask and triage needs of patients and coworkers for efficient care.

  • Experience and Skills Preferred:

o Two years' experience as a lead role in a medical setting or physician office manager.

o Proficient in EHR.

o Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
