The New York office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is seeking associates to join the M&A team. Candidates should be class of 2014 - 2017, have strong academic credentials, exceptional writing skills, and experience with global business transactions, including M&A and leveraged buyouts, for international corporations and financial institutions.

Caxton Associates’ primary business is to manage client and proprietary capital through global macro hedge fund strategies. Assets are managed via a broad mandate to trade in a variety of global markets and instruments. </p> <p><strong>The role:</strong></p> <p>Working within the fund accounting team you will be responsible for all aspects of the calculation of net asset values on a variety of hedge funds. You will be working closely with senior fund accountants and account managers. The role will require initially for you to spend time in our NJ office to get up speed then the role will be NY based with some travel to the NJ office required.</p> <p><strong>Principal Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with daily profit and loss reconciliations between Caxton and Citco (Fund Administrator)</li> <li>Assist with Daily and Monthly Net Asset Value calculations &amp; Maintenance of Daily Net Asset Values uploaded to Caxton Website</li> <li>Book Investor Activity and assist in daily &amp; Monthly internal investor allocation schedules</li> <li>Assist with the review of broker/ counterparty reconciliations prepared by Fund Administrator</li> <li>Review financial statements and associated reports prepared by Administrator as needed.</li> <li>Assist, as assigned, in preparing audit schedules, compliance reports, financial statements, or other reports assigned by management as needed. </li> <li>Work with our Auditor, E&amp;Y’s ad hoc audit requests as needed</li> <li>Maintain a schedule of Audited F/S statement Drafts for tracking (i.e. when received, updated)</li> <li>Assist with review of non-trade expense schedules prepared by Administrator and the logging and maintenance of Non Trade Expense Invoices, including obtaining the appropriate signatures needed for payment </li> <li>Assist with the review of Investor Statements ensuring investor balances agree to share register and internal NAV per share information</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Experience Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree with exposure to finance or any other analytical course work (CPA a Plus but not needed)</li> <li>Previous Fund Accounting Experience and review of Financial Statements</li> <li>Previous experience with Bloomberg for Bond and Derivative Financial Instrument valuation a plus but not needed</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills/Knowledge</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated analytical skills </li> <li>Demonstrated organizational skills </li> <li>Detail Oriented</li> <li>Ability to work independently</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure </li> <li>PC skills (Excel, Word, etc.) </li> </ul> Caxton Associates New York NY
