LWND AB Machine Operator

Currently, this location, Lawndale, NC is working 4 - 10 hour days. With most Fridays off or used for OT.

The Bagger Operator adds value by leading their team to achieve quantity and quality production goals.

The expectation is to take ownership of the designated work center.

• Safety (strictly enforced). Mandatory attendance of all assigned safety training and adherence to all safety policies and practices.

• Ability to pay close attention to detail.

• Ability to read specs and measurements.

• Ability to troubleshoot machinery in order to reduce downtime.

• Operate machine at 2400 bags per 10 hour shift to achieve production standards.

• Learn quality aspect of product in order to reduce waste.

• Ability to work in a teamwork setting.

• Ability to use forklift to transport Animal Bedding

• Drives for results

Requirements of Job

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Prior machine operation experience

• Mechanical ability a plus

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repetitively.

• Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.

• Regularly bend wrists.

• Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, and turning.

• Occasional pushing/holding back material

• Frequently required to stand (up to 10 hours) and walk.

• The noise level is usually moderate.

• Exposure to heat and cold extremes at times.

• Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc)

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
