Minimum Education:

  • Graduate of a Nursing Board approved LVN Program.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • 2 years experience in a health care setting preferred.

Required License/Certification:

  • Valid California Licensed Vocational Nursing License. IV certification preferred.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider card from the American Heart Association required.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is an individual with specific knowledge and technical skills to assist the Registered Nurse in providing care for a designated group of patients. The LVN utilizes the Nursing Process to provide therapeutic care to a specific population of patients, and does so under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
