Job Summary: Working under the direction of the Sr. Nurse Manager and/or Site Manager/Director, this position has direct responsibility for the supervision of staff in the clinical department. Ensures staff is providing patient care within the scope of practice outlined by the California Board of Nursing.
Under the direction of Sr. Clinical Manager and/or Site Manager/Director, oversees the functions of the clinical department. (15%)
Identifies problems within the department, analyzes and resolves with appropriate action. Identify trends/patterns that adversely impact flow and discuss with manager. (15%)
This position will assist with recruitment, selection, training, disciplining, discharging and development of staff competent to achieve corporate goals and objectives. (10%)
Works with multiple specialties MD's doing specialty procedures. (10%)
Provides staff with standards of performance, informing them of job expectations and evaluating their performance. (10%)
Is a super user for the AEMR system; assists with staff training and trouble-shooting. (10%)
Communicates effectively with internal/external customers. Maintains patient/employee confidentiality, following HIPAA guidelines. (10%)
Develops goals and objectives for both the department and individual employee. Devise methods for employees, individually and as a department, to obtain goals. (5%)
Maintains current knowledge of medications, disposal of wastes, and sterile techniques while adhering to infection control, universal precautions and use of personal protective equipment. (5%)
Responsible for updating and keeping track of attendance/Kronos for direct reports. (5%)
Oversees inventory and orders for office and medical supplies, medications and vaccinations. (3%)
Conducts clinical staff meetings, committee meetings and other meetings as assigned. (2%)
Attends and participates in all mandatory clinical/business department meetings/in-services.
Maintains CPR, IV certificate and other appropriate licensure/certifications for self and staff.
Administers medications and treatments (within scope of practice) per provider orders, adhering to facility policy and procedures, accepted standards of care, and department guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program at a vocational school or college.
Current California LVN license.
Current CPR certificate
Requires three (3) plus years of recent experience in an acute care facility or medical group practice with a minimum of one (1) year in a medical practice.
Must have previous employee supervision/management experience.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Windows, and Excel.
