Under general supervision, responsible for the nursing needs of residents, while actively incorporating our "Philosophy for Person-Directed Care." Ensures a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors to participate in the resident's daily life rhythm. Develops awareness of residents' interests and needs, and assists residents to maximize their rehabilitation, independence and participation.

Will provide care and assistance of residents in the Skilled Nursing arena and on limited occasions may supervise caregivers providing resident services; effectively plans and implements nursing services to provide quality care. Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Director of Nursing Services and/or designee.

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school and currently licensed as an LVN/LPN to practice in applicable state.

Experience/Training: Nursing experience preferred Senior Care or Rehabilitation experience preferred Clinical observation skills Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records and communicate with team members Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current LVN license Current CPR certification

VIEW JOBS 8/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-15T00:00 Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Performs CAT scan procedures proficiently, accounting for variation in patients' conditions, ages and ability to cooperate. * Performs formatting, archiving, and remove command. * Maintains equipment in good operating condition and reports malfunctions, maladjustments or necessary repairs. * Performs quality control procedures and/or assists Director of Medical imaging and Radiologists in quality management. * Maintains adequate necessary supplies in the room, i.e., syringes, needles, contrast media, etc. * Prepares proper mixture and set up of different media. * Practices correct sterile, decontamination techniques, and bio-hazard methods * Maintains emergency kit and equipment in the room. * Is available for on-call or after-hours schedule. * Maintains technical expertise through continuing education. * Assists in cross-training of technologists and teaching students. * Assists physicians in administering contrast media, and pre-procedure medication. * Coordinates procedures with nursing station, physicians, and other departments. * Assists patients and physicians throughout procedures. * Provides patient comfort in the department. * Assists other technologists with patient care as needed. * Assures patient equipment and tubes, i.e., IV's, I Meds, chest tubes, foley catheters, etc. are in good operating condition. * Applies proper radiation protection and patient safety procedures. * Practices courtesy, politeness, kindness, and creates a pleasant atmosphere with patients. * Applies proper decision making that is appropriate to the situation. * Practices professional ethics and courtesy with other employees. * Practices patient confidentiality. * Practices proper phone etiquette. * Assures the correct examination was ordered. * Maintains proper professional attire at all times (adherence to department dress code). * Checks recent reports and confirm that prior films are available for comparison. * Reports incidents with the proper forms required. * Maintains daily log. * Maintains quality control records. * Participates in CQI project. * Updates protocol on policies and procedures as necessary. * Adheres to written hospital policies and procedures. * Demonstrates knowledge of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric variations in treatment/procedure as evidenced by annual age specific competency assessment/evaluation. * Performs other duties consistent with professional training and experience and Department goals and functions. * Demonstrates knowledge of PACS and RIS systems Minimum Education: * High School diploma or equivalent. * Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained. Minimum Experience: * Minimum of (2) years CT experience. * Previous acute hospital experience preferred. Required License/Certification: * Current certification: CRT and fluoroscopy permit required. ARRT and ARRT- CT certification preferred. * Current BCLS certification via AHA.
