This June, Liberty Healthcare will open a specialized four-bed residential home in Ramona in north San Diego County. This home will serve adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as significant behavioral health challenges. To meet the need of the clients of this home, Liberty will take an intensive interdisciplinary clinical approach, employ highly competent and well-trained clinical professionals and direct care staff, and utilize best practices in person-centered care.

Liberty is now hiring LVNs for multiple newly-created full-time, part-time and per diem 'Lead Behavioral Support Professional' positions which will be responsible for:

  • Leading, training, managing and supervising staff Behavioral Support Professionals

  • Monitoring program implementation and treatment integrity

  • Proactively addressing problems, concerns and issues

  • Providing direct care, behavioral intervention and skill building activities and assistance to clients

  • Observing clients' conditions and behaviors

  • Working closely with the home's Director and licensed clinicians

  • Assisting with medication protocols

  • Rapidly responding to individual client needs

  • Assisting clients with their activities of daily living

LVNs in the Lead Behavioral Health Support Professional role will primarily work weekdays however there is a requirement to also work at least one weekend each month. Available work schedule options are across the following three shifts:

  • 1stshift from 8am to 4pm
  • 2ndshift from 4pm to 12am
  • 3rdshift from 12am to 8am

These positions offer a starting rate of $21.15 per hour. Additionally, full-time employees of Liberty Healthcare receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid time and much more.

As a Lead Behavioral Support Professional you will be affiliated with an organization that is nationally-recognized as a leader in the provision of high-quality health and human services to people who have intellectual disabilities and mental illness while gaining valuable resume-building processional work experience in the health and human service field.

Skills/Requirements

To qualify as a Behavioral Support Professional, you must possess the following attributes:

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED

  • Have at least 1 year of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities

  • Licensed / certified professionally as at least of the following:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

  • Psychiatric Technician

  • LCSW, LMFT or Behavior Analyst

  • Adult Residential Facility (ARF) certificate

  • Registered Behavioral Technician

  • Prior management, supervisory and leadership experience is preferred

Lead Behavioral Support Processionals will be provided with training by Liberty to become certified as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) or Professional Crisis Management Association (PCME) as well as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) which must be maintained while employed by Liberty. Direct Support Professional Training as well as other relevant training will provided.

You're a good fit for this position if you have at least one year of professional experience providing direct care and behavioral support to people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior management, supervisory or leadership experience is preferred. Registered Behavioral Technicians, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Licensed Psychiatric Technicians, Qualified Behavior Modification Professionals, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and individuals possessing an Adult Residential Facility certificate are strongly encouraged to apply.
