THIS IS A VETERAN FUNDED POSITION. Appointment to this position must be made in the order of preference provided by Public Law 100-323, as follows:

The Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) will engage with the corporate environment to assist with the development of the service delivery strategies for veterans and educating partner staff with current employment initiatives and programs for veterans.
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic sales principles and skills
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in individual and group settings, both verbally and in writing
Working knowledge/experience using Microsoft Office applications, incl. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experienced in group presentations or facilitation
Knowledge of workforce plans and business/management principles
Ability to promote and market Career Center
Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous and effective manner
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to prepare reports to include recording, evaluating and analyzing data
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures

THE HIRED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING
Performs duties outlined in Title 38 of the United States Code (U.S.C.), 4104 (b) (1) (2) as amended by Public Law 100-323. The incumbent will assure the One-Stop Career Center compliance with Federal Regulations, standards of performance, and contractual provisions of the grant agreement mandating special services for Veterans.
The incumbent provides direct workforce services to Veterans and employers on behalf of Veterans. Required to travel locally and must provide own transportation.
The LVER shall:
Facilitate the full range of priority workforce services for Veterans in the One-Stop Career Center, providing service delivery strategies targeting Veterans.
Ensure compliance with all Veterans' Program Performance Measurements and goals in the One-Stop Career Center.
Provide directly or facilitate a full range of workforce services for Veterans, including newly separated Veterans.
Functionally coordinate the provision of employment and training services to eligible Veterans by one-stop associates and service providers.
Monitor job listings and subsequent referrals of qualified Veterans to ensure required priority of services is afforded to Veterans.
This would include reviewing all new employer registrations to verify legitimacy of employer, and reviewing all newly posted and expired job orders for DEO compliance.
Conduct Veterans Program training for all one-stop associates.
Serve as Advocate for Veterans in the One-Stop Career Center by contacting employers, unions, chambers of commerce, economic development units, apprenticeship programs, training providers, etc., to promote the Veterans' Program, One-Stop Career Center services and develop employment and training opportunities for Veterans.
Plan/participate in Job Fairs for Veterans, employer mass recruitments, hiring events, employer recruiting agreements, etc.
Promote credentialing and certification for Veterans.
Contact Veterans Service organizations, community and faith-based organizations, Reserve/National Guard units, etc., to promote the Veterans Program and One-Stop Career Center services.
Promote and monitor the participation of Veterans in WIOA and other one-stop and federally funded employment and training programs.
Monitor federal contractors job listings; reports findings, through normal administrative channels, to the Director of Veterans Employment and Training Services (DVET) and the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP) evidence of failures in providing priority or other special consideration in the provision of services to Veteran applicants as required by law and regulations.
THIS POSITION HAS THE FOLLOWING JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

Preference will be given to those applicants with:
A bachelor's degree and two years experience in areas related to employment security, such as sales experience, cold calling, interviewing, counseling, job placement, aptitude testing and assessments, job development, presentations, negotiating, strategizing, leadership, and ability to close.
Professional or nonprofessional experience in areas related to employment security, such as sales experience, cold calling, interviewing, counseling, job placement, aptitude testing and assessments, job development, presentations, negotiating, strategizing, leadership, and ability to close may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the college education. Six years experience required.
