The Academic Advisor will be responsible for the following, as guided by the long and short-term goals of Liberty University:

  1. Keeping students and guests, as our customers, the first priority

  2. Providing unwavering, exceptional service and support to students and other university employees

  3. Striving to be the expert on all university policies or connecting students with the correct person

  4. Continually communicating the unique vision and offerings of Liberty University

  5. Walking through, to its completion, any student concerns to ensure long-term enrollment retention

  6. Building long-term relationships with student population to provide them with a personal connection to the university and a functional asset during their educational experience

  7. Utilizing multiple systems and resources while working with students


Minimum Qualifications

  1. College experience (degree in progress)

  2. Customer services/sales experience

  3. Ability to work first and/or second shift hours and rotating Saturdays

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  5. Ability to utilize a calculator and computer including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  6. Ability to work in a team atmosphere

  7. Capability to represent the department and university in a professional manner

  8. Self-motivation and ability to set short term and long term goals


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree

  2. An understanding of proper interpersonal communication and phone etiquette

  3. Experience in a professional atmosphere

  4. Previous experience in an advising setting

  5. Previous experience in a contact center


Work Hours

Hours Vary: Monday-Friday 8am-10pm ; Saturdays 10am-6pm

No Contact Contact Phone Ext Contact Email Job Summary/Basic Function A personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University. Upward communication through written reports and personal communication across the university administration. Oversight of budget, procurement, faculty scheduling, and assist full- and part-time faculty to successfully meet their goals. Assist with program assessment. Will use advanced components of Microsoft Office to compile and distribute administrative reports. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills required. * Creative, innovative, and problem solving skills required. * Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision. * Proficiency in MS Office, Blackboard, and the internet. * Applications for consideration will only be accepted via Liberty University's online automated application process.
