Responsible for the actual service and/or repair of vehicles assigned to them by service management or their designated representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained as assigned by management or their designated representative.

  • Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.

  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary.Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.

  • Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the service department.

  • Participate in and utilize (to the best of ones ability) technical training as assigned by management. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

  • Maintain the work space assigned in an organized and cleanly manner.

  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.

  • Maintain personal grooming, hygiene and uniform standards according to departmental policy.

  • Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.

  • Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.

  • Provide the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.

  • Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees.

  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.

  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

  • Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.

  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

  • Follows federal, state and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information.

  • Reports on time to work and follows schedule that is given. Calls supervisor if he/she cannot be at work on time.

  • Keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position.

  • Follows all company policies and procedures. Notifies supervisor of any illegal activity.

VIEW JOBS 2/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-26T00:00 <strong><u>(multiple positions available):</u></strong> This position supports pending support efforts for the Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD) Missile Systems Management Branch (MSMB) which has a requirement to provide for the life cycle support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) legacy weapon platform subsystems including non-standard United States systems.  Legacy weapon platforms to be supported under this effort include the HAWK and CHAPARRAL Air Defense Weapon Systems.  As part of its overall mission support, MSMB provides for the obsolescence analysis, technology insertion, upgrades, repair, and overhaul of legacy systems, subsystems, and components.  Efforts required to meet these continual customer needs include analysis, technology insertion, prototyping, maintenance, fabrication, repair, and testing.  This PWS is comprised of tasks which will be required to provide engineering and logistics support services for the HAWK and/or CHAPARRAL legacy programs /projects managed by SAMD MSMB. <br /> Primary place of performance is Redstone Arsenal, AL.  Performance will additionally take place at government and Contractor facilities and at continental United States (CONUS) or outside of the continental United States (OCONUS) site locations as required. Personnel may be required to travel to the following countries: Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Japan, Taiwan, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Sweden, Israel, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Korea, Singapore, Romania, Portugal, Bahrain, Morocco, India, and Poland.<br />  <br /> <strong>Required:</strong>   Five (5) years of experience in trouble shooting and maintenance of CHAPARRAL and/or HAWK systems.<br />  <br /> Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. A security clearance is not required. This is a full-time position located in Huntsville, AL with about 10% travel.
