Success Partners connect with students through individual appointments to help them develop strategies for college success. They are dedicated students who aspire to help their fellow Lamar University peers realize and achieve their goals. In these one-on-one meetings, Success Partners create a structured and collaborative environment in order to identify barriers to academic success and assist students in creating action plans for overcoming those challenges. • Complete Success Partner orientation session • Meet with students one-on-one weekly/bi-weekly, discussing general learning strategies and setting goals to help students identify their strengths and areas of growth • Identify students' needs in order to recommend individualized strategies or services to enhance their learning • Coordinate meetings with students through communication and scheduling appointments • Attend weekly staff trainings • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain appointment documentation

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven use of skills to reach higher levels of academic achievement o 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA OR o 3.0 or higher semester GPA for past two consecutive terms • Desire to serve as a role model and assist fellow Lamar University students • Dedication to the process of collaborative learning • Excellent interpersonal communication • Positive and encouraging attitude • Willingness to actively participate in on-going training
