NASA chose Axiom Space to develop its next-generation astronaut spacesuits for the Artemis lunar missions. These new spacesuits built by Axiom Space will provide astronauts with advanced capabilities for space exploration, while providing commercially developed human systems needed to access, live, and work in microgravity as well as on and around the Moon.
SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic LTV Technical Lead- Mechanical who will primarily be responsible for aiding Axiom's LTV Program Support Manager with the development and construction of our LTV Program We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background in testing and problem solving. The role requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. This role is onsite and will be based at our Gemini facility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
Develop Ground Support Equipment, procedures, hazard analyses as needed in support of the flight program of Lunar space suits.
Responsible for testing flight hardware, ground support equipment, and support AI&T team during Human-In-The-Loop testing evaluations.
Design and execute Human-In-The-Loop Cycle tests to verify flight hardware life cycle.
Work on a regular basis with technicians/engineers to perform suit processing for NBL and 1-G testing.
Develop, maintain, and revise Data Requirements Description (DRD) documentation needed for each NASA milestone review.
Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience (Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
2+ years of direct working experience, preferably in the space industry
Test Operations experience with xEMU/EMU
Experience in designing, developing, and executing engineering tests to evaluate the design capabilities and requirements for flight hardware.
Familiar with the NASA TPS and DR system
Extensive experience writing test procedures and test plans
Familiar with NASA documentation involving test operations
Experience working with external organizations such as NASA engineering safety, medical and quality
Ability to present to all levels of management

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
