LTS Special Education Teacher - Learning Support

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a LTS Special Education Learning Support Teacher at our TCHS Pickering Campus located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. This position is expected to conclude at the end of the school year and start ASAP.

Qualifications:

• Valid PA Certification in Special Education N-12 required.

• Learning support experience at the high school level preferred.

• Current child abuse, criminal history and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

• Clearance as an MA provider by the federal government and commonwealth of PA (conducted by the CCIU upon hire).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.

• Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.

• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.

• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.

• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.

• Maintain contact with professionals concerning student progress.

• Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students.

• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required. Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students.

Salary - 2023-2024 School Year (Professional):

$54,981 - $86,531 - Instructional I

$57,379 - $89,997 - Instructional II

$61,041 - $98,278 - Master's degree

$63,691 - $102,147 - Master's degree plus 15 credits

$65,079 - $103,999 - Master's degree plus 30 credits

• Salary to be pro-rated based on start date. Placement on the salary scale is determied by previous experience.

Schedule:

5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day.
