Lrn Consult, RN Residency Prog

Position Summary Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates a comprehensive RN Residency Program for new licensed Registered Nurses (RN) during their first year of employment. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Collaborates with local school partners and Orlando Health stakeholders including Talent Acquisition, Student Services, and Nursing to promote recruitment and support workforce planning. • Provides guidance and support in problem solving, professional development and transition from student to new licensed RN team member (RN Resident). • Establishes and maintains scheduled contact with new Registered Nurses through first year of employment to support retention. • Communicates with Nursing Leadership and Learning Specialists to support new RN progress within clinical areas. • Analyzes results of RN Residency Program evaluations and implements process improvements when appropriate. • Utilizes data metrics to monitor progress for RN Residency program, evaluate trends and forecasting; prepares relevant reports and contributes to workforce planning dashboard overview. • Provide guidance to RN Resident with on their career path. • Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into RN Residency program provided internally or presented by external sources. • Facilitates and supports RN Resident with accountability in involvement in professional and organizational activities. • Demonstrates professional accountability by involvement in professional organizations. • Effectively expresses ideas in verbal and written communication to team members and groups.

Embraces, communicates and promotes change management. • Facilitates RN Residency program course and provides formal education presentations. • Facilitates professional development through utilization of educational curriculum and needs assessment. • Participates in corporate committees and/or educational initiatives that influence organizational strategic imperatives. • Participates in professional development opportunities that enhance his/her effectiveness in the role. • Creates opportunities to develop critical thinking and critical reasoning skills. • Demonstrates knowledge of the research process; interprets and uses evidence based practice guidelines in addressing learning needs. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Licensure/Certification Maintains current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.

Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. National specialty certification in Nursing Professional Development, Certified Nurse Educator or area of clinical practice required. Experience Five (5) years of acute care hospital clinical experience required.

Two (2) years of experience in an education role is required. Proficient with Microsoft Office computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Education/Training Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Licensure/Certification Maintains current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
