CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. Position Summary

Incumbent will conduct soil stabilization and vegetation management activities in support of the Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) component of the Army's Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, by utilizing light equipment and hand tools such as tractors, mowers, straw blowers, hydro-seeders, skid-steers, shovels, root rakes, pick axes, brush axes, and chainsaws.

The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in the United States by the start date. CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for these positions.

A valid driver's license is required for these positions.

Required Job Qualifications

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Experience with running and maintaining:

  • Small agricultural tractors

  • Mowers

  • Skid-Steers

  • Hand held power equipment (trimmers, tillers, chainsaws, etc.)

  • Manual tools (shovels, root rakes, pick axes, brush axes etc.)

Physically able to work outdoors and perform strenuous labor under all weather conditions (e.g., heat and humidity).

Able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.

Be able to follow directions, work collectively with others as a team, and maintain safe working standards.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Knowledge and experience necessary to facilitate:

  • Work site revegetation

  • Land clearing

  • Site preparations

  • Soil stabilization

Experience with land rehabilitation, horizontal construction techniques, and erosion control practices.

Experience working on a military installation.

This position will assist the Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) component of the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program to sustain realistic training land conditions and support the mission requirements for units at the installation. Incumbent will be responsible for the operations of heavy equipment (e.g., dozer, grader, loader, excavator, roller, hydroseeder, dump trucks, and more) and will load and haul equipment. Work will be conducted for trail maintenance and repair, soil stabilization, vegetation management, training land repair, reconfiguration and range improvement. The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in the United States by the start date. CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for these positions. A valid driver's license is required for these positions. Required Job Qualifications A High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 2 years professional experience with running and maintaining heavy equipment. Experience with land rehabilitation, horizontal construction techniques, and erosion control practices. Must have proficient verbal and written English communication skills. Physically able to work outdoors and perform strenuous labor under all weather conditions (e.g., heat and humidity). Able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly. Able to follow directions, work collectively with others as a team, and maintain safe working standards. Preferred Job Qualifications Extensive knowledge and experience necessary to facilitate: * Worksite revegetation * Land clearing * Site preparations * Soil stabilization * Trail maintenance and construction More than two years' experience running and maintaining heavy equipment such as: * 10 to 25 ton standard dump truck, requires a CDL A license * Dozers * Motor graders * Loaders * Tractors * Roller Knowledge and experience with small tree/brush removal and gravel, aggregate and rip rap application.
