This position offers the opportunity to travel between multiple facilities based on our organization's needs. This position pays $30/hour with a $1.75 evening shift differential and a $ 2.50-night shift differential.

A Day in the Life of a Licensed Practical Nurse

As a float pool LPN at Monarch, you arrive each day at the appointed location determined to ensure that your patients are happy, healthy, and safe. You are responsible for the nursing care of our residents under the direction of the registered nurse.

You are a part of the front-line staff which is most visible to our residents and their loved ones. You treat those you care for the same way you would want your own family members treated. You love people and enjoy interacting with patients and residents, as well as family, visitors, and other healthcare providers.

You are involved in the care planning process and you adhere to standards of care and follow specific policies and procedures. You complete charting, facilitate all physician orders, administer medications, sign out medications and treatments, obtain and transcribe physician orders, and documents PRN's. You observe, document, and report findings to the RN.

You also provide leadership for the nursing assistants. You lead by example and mentor and coach them on providing quality care and inspire them to do it with a genuinely positive and caring attitude. Your good leadership helps maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a licensed practical nurse in the state of Minnesota

  • Valid CPR Certificate

  • Successful completion of an approved school of nursing

  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Work Schedule

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES TO EFFECTIVELY PERFORM RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ability to perform routine office procedures in a safe and effective manner. * Knowledgeable in appointment scheduling and current insurance information. * Incorporates the use of technology into day-to-day tasks by using Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, NextGen and UroChart effectively and accurately. * Represent Minnesota Urology in a professional manner related to appearance, communication and the maintenance of patient and company confidentiality. * Ability to effectively communicate and work efficiently with direct manager, administration, providers, patients and staff. * Ability to analyze work methods to effectively organize work, make improvements and correct problems. * Supportive of the goals and objectives of Minnesota Urology. * Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Qualifications/Education/Training/Licensure: * Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program or an accredited medical assistant program. * LPN License or Medical Assistant Certification. * At least one year of previous clinical experience as a LPN or Certified Medical Assistant. * CPR Certification preferred.
