Title: LPN scrub nurse/ Certified Surgical Technician
Reports to: Operating room manager/Clinical Manager/ Administrator
Location - onsite
Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm.

We at the Surgery Center at Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County are an Ambulatory Surgical Center specializing in Orthopedics.
What you'll do:
Assist the Registered Professional Nurse in planning for and carrying out the activities in elective surgical procedures and emergency procedures if and when an emergency situation occurs. No call, no weekends.
Responsibilities/Duties:
1.Scrub on all types of surgical procedures as assigned.
2.Assist in setting up operating room for surgical procedures with emphasis on safely utilizing appropriate equipment.
3.Handle sterile linen, instruments, supplies, and maintain sterile technique during the operative procedure.
4.Assist in keeping accurate sponge and needle counts, operative sheet chargeable items, and specimens.
5.Clean and restock operating room after the procedure.
6.Assemble special trays, instruments, etc. and packing and wrapping for processing.
7.Complete special assignments as indicated.
8.Assume responsibility for personal growth and development by participating in continuing education programs.
9.Assist with orientation and incidental teaching of new personnel.
Any additional duties within your scope of practice that may be assigned to you by your supervisor.
Adhere to SCOA policies and procedures.
Occupational Hazards:
Frequent exposure to infectious waste and blood-borne pathogens. Occasional moderate to heavy lifting.
Standing for long periods of time.

Education and Experience:
High school education or equivalent.
procedural experience preferred but not mandatory - will train.
Certification and other documents Required:
Successful completion of AST Certification examination or Current LPN licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
