RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to work in the Wound Care Center, at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus is a fully accredited acute care hospital dedicated to providing the finest medical and health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties. An affiliate of the RWJBarnabas Health system, Monmouth South is a sister hospital to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduated from an accredited program of Practical Nursing

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Proficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• BLS certification from AHA
• Maintains required Heart Saver CPR Certification/course completion status

Preferred:

• Two or more years nursing experience

• Wound Care experience

• HBO Certification preferred or must attend and successfully pass an HBO Training Course upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day shift, 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

• Provide wound care services to patients in a timely manner

• Provide patient education and support for the treatment of wounds, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment planning, management, discharge planning, and follow up documentation as well as health promotion programs

• Provide care based on scientific principles/nursing theory and evidence based practice

• Involve patient/family in developing plan of care

• Recognize change in patient s condition and intervene appropriately

• Prioritize nursing actions, reflecting patient s needs, acuity and desired outcomes

• Implement physician orders accurately within appropriate time frames

• Demonstrate competency in core and unit-specific clinical skills

• Identify continuing care needs of patient for the discharge plan

• Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties

• Ensure HIPAA Compliance

• In the absence of the front desk coordinator, schedules patients for outpatient wound care and HBO therapy, performs patient check-in and registration, as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
