Performs a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practices.

1.Triage incoming telephone calls; responds to questions regarding medications and treatment instruction; coordinates telephone requests to refill prescription drug medications in accordance with physician's directions and protocols.
2.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical nursing standards; observes, records, and reports patient's condition; advises physician of patient's adverse reactions to drugs and / or treatments.
3.Provides patient education and teaching under the direction of a physician; answers questions regarding diagnostic testing and treatment.
4.Dresses wounds according to standard clinical procedures.


Successful completion of an accredited practical nurse program.


State of Georgia licensure as a practical nurse. American Heart Association-BLS Card is required.

Enforces all PHC regulations, and applicable state and federal laws. Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention. May perform other duties as required by hospital leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages Security Operations through delegation, training and promotes professional development. Contributes to the professional development of Security Operations staff through the development and management of all security training. Contributes to budget planning and development as well as the management of the department's budget. Supervises assigned personnel, and ensures proper training and discipline of those personnel. Manages job related projects as assigned, and works to analyze and improve processes and procedures within the organization. Enforces all PHC policies, regulations and applicable state and federal laws. Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention. Incident documentation and initial incident investigation. Executes all interactions with patients, visitors, staff and co-workers with a professional, courteous and helpful demeanor. Maintains a professional appearance. Adheres to and enforces the departmental uniform and grooming policies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Capable of demonstrating basic literacy and satisfactory interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Page 2 of2 Gather data, analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Read comprehensively; follow oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain effective cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Write clear and comprehensive status reports, and correspondence; present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to facilitate change processes and work collaboratively with diverse, multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to learn and operate computerized security systems, CCTV monitoring equipment, and standard 2-way radios. Ability to type approximately 30 words per minute and enter data on a computer keyboard. Able to respond appropriately to aggressive behavior and apply physical restraints. Physically fit, strong, public/human relations skills, able to cope with stress and emergency situations. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five years general security, military or other public safety experience with 3 years' experience in supervision/ leadership roles. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: None ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: International Association of Healthcare Safety & Security - Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor preferred.
