JOB SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents a thorough medical history from patient.

Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Counseling patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans. The LPN demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in health teaching developed by a licensed practitioner or registered nurse.;Participate and be part of a healthcare team to conduct focused nursing assessments and contribute to the plan of care.;Observe patients, document and report changes in patient condition, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take any necessary action.;Implement interventions that are assigned, ordered or prescribed by licensed practitioner or registered nurse.;Follows safety measures to ensure proper use of equipment and supplies.;Establishes and maintains productive working relationships within and outside of own area.;Contribute to the evaluation of the plan of care by gathering, observing, recording and communication patient responses to nursing interventions.;Communicate relevant information with patients and health team members to ensure quality and continuity of care.;Adheres to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information.;Responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for patients.;Promote a safe and therapeutic environment by providing appropriate monitoring and surveillance of the care environment.;

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Primary need for this PRN role will be to fulfill the needs for onsite Wellness Events, as well as other onsite events/services to include but not limited to immunizations, and onsite company contract coverage. May include clinic coverage as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Applies advanced understanding of Patient Access Management department workflow and end user needs based on health care related practices, and regulatory and legal requirements. Ensures compliance with processes, policies, and regulatory requirements. Based on job location, performs day to day operations and leads Patient Access functions, which may include admissions, discharges, and transfers (ADT) issues, registration, scheduling, department appointments reporting, and electronic medical record (EMR) issues. Assists in developing workflows to generate accurate patient data and aid in effective practice relating to financial details such as pre-authorization, assistance for underinsured and insured patients, and available government programs, while working to improve patient satisfaction. Assists department management team with procedural changes related to work flows, ADT modules and reimbursements for private, state and federal payers to ensure financial return. Collects and compiles data, assesses accuracy and validity of data. Interprets data and creates accurate, useful, and timely reports to aid in departmental training. This person will be overseeing 2 corporate medicine assistants. QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree in a healthcare or business-related field or 4 years of related experience required.
