LPN - Peds/Adults

POSITION TITLE: LPN - PEDIATRICS/ ADULTS

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

• Current LPN Florida license

• Certification in Phlebotomy, preferred

• Proven nursing abilities and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of immunization schedules

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Knowledge of referral agencies in the county

• Proficient in phlebotomy (venous & capillary) on children and infants

• Knowledge of special test collection procedures and handling

• Good interpersonal skills/team player

• Computer literacy and excellent oral & written communication skills

• Maintain a high standard of professionalism based on the State of Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards and our agency policies

• BLS

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Resolve telephone messages and route them to the appropriate individual, when required.

• Document all telephone calls and responses.

• Interview, assess and prioritize all walk-in patients.

• Administer all immunizations and injectables, when needed.

• Assist in making appointments for all referrals.

• Provide patient education in all health related areas, as needed.

• Perform phlebotomy (venous & capillary) on children and infants.

• Labeling & preparation of specimens for in-house testing/and/or shipment to reference lab.

• Finger stick for blood sugar levels.

• Chart documentation of tests ordered and results of waived and special tests.

• Maintaining specimen logs and filing of reports.

• Help in the office/clinic where and when needed.

• Other duties as assigned
