LPN Mohs/Dermatology/Adrian MI - Every Other Friday (7:30- 4:30)

Toledo Clinic's Dermatology Department is seeking a part-time LPN (Mohs Surgery) to work every other Friday (7:30 - 4:30) in our Adrian MI office. This position will be required to various office locations for training and also to cover when needed.

General Summary:

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs post-operative top stitching.

This is a part-time surgical nursing position in our Adrian, Michigan office. The nurse will primarily assist the physician with Mohs surgery. The nurse must be available to work 2 Fridays per month. In addition to her clinical duties, the nurse will be responsible for charting physician findings/procedures in dermatology- specific EMR software. The nurse will be responsible for returning patient calls, answering patient questions and providing patient education.

Works directly under the supervision of the Mohs surgeon.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).

• Escorting patients to exam room.

• Preparing exam rooms.

• Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).

• Assist with Mohs Surgeries

• Perform post-operative top stitching

• Chart physician findings/procedures performed

• Place follow up calls to patients

• Obtain prior authorizations and biologics paperwork

• Administering injections.

• At the request of the physician, request prescription refills.

• Other duties as assigned

Previous experience preferred.

Education:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nursing Degree (RN) with Current State licensure. The position will require you to have both Ohio and Michigan licenses. Applicants with only one license can apply for the other after accepting the job offer.
