POSITION SUMMARY:

Balfour Senior Living, a resort style senior living community, is seeking team-oriented LPNs to deliver exceptional service and care to residents at our beautiful Balfour Senior Living Community. This community provides assisted living and assisted living memory care. We are a hospitality focused and service-oriented leader in our field!

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing day-to-day resident and nursing care activities

  • Work closely with our care partners to deliver quality care and service

  • Completes admission data collection on all newly admitted residents to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Transfers and discharges residents with appropriate and accurate information

  • Responsible for following through on resident incidents and grievances by taking appropriate action and reporting immediately to supervisor

  • Participate in committees as requested

  • Ensure that nursing service work areas (i.e. nurses stations, medicine preparation rooms, resident rooms, treatment areas, etc.) are maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner

  • Other duties as required

SHIFT:

  • Full-time
  • 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
  • 4-5 days a week

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Valid and current LPN state license required

  • Knowledge and experience in bedside nursing required

  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others

  • Ability to maintain a customer focus treating all customers with respect and integrity

  • Ability to accept responsibility for agreements made and follow through as appropriate

  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods

  • Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 55 pounds, unassisted

  • Full use of hands, arms, and legs (i.e., washing, feeding, and dressing residents, writing notations, etc.)

  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, on holidays, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary

  • May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens

  • Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander

Life Enrichment is the Activities Department and we are all about bringing fun, creativity and learning to our residents! In this rewarding position, you will work with the team to develop, plan and implement a wide variety of stimulating, high quality programs that meet the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and individual needs of a diverse community. The successful candidate will work directly with the residents leading and participating in various activities and outings. On any given day, coordinators help facilitate socials, games, crafts, cooking, movies, outings, outside time, and many other fun activities! We work well as a team and we try to bring new and exciting ideas to our monthly calendars and encourage new suggestions. Qualifications: * Previous experience in organizing activities or event planning preferred * Experience working with individuals with Alzheimers or other related dementias preferred * Effective verbal and written communication skills required * Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members * Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others * Ability to maintain a customer focus treating others with respect and integrity * Ability to accept responsibility for agreements made and follow through as appropriate * Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language * Ability to adapt and work effectively as part of a team and independently * Ability to bend, push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted * Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time * Ability to read a map and familiarity with the Boulder/Denver metro area preferred * Must be able to drive a company vehicle (town car and 14 passenger van) * Must possess a current driver's license and ability to meet approved driver requirements Balfour Senior Living Louisville CO
