As a Licensed Practical Nurse, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:
Care for patients with a variety of illnesses, injuries and diseases in facilities such as clinics, medical offices, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals and schools
Provides legible, clear written, or electronic documentation of all patient care provided, medications administered, and the patient's response to care
Establishes effective relationships with patients, physicians, families/visitors, coworkers, and superiors.
A few must-haves for Licensed Practical Nurses:
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program and active LPN license
Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
Current clearances required for job assignment
Knowledge of state and federal health regulations
Clinical proficiency in nursing, strong communication skills and compassion
