Immediate need for compassionate, caring LPNs for a 24 hour in-home case in Moseley, VA. This is in Powhatan/Chesterfield counties. Shifts are 7am-7pm, and 7pm-7am. Days and nights needed. Need someone experienced with Peg tube feedings, administering of medication, Foley catheter, and able to reposition patient in bed.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the well-being and nursing care of all patients assigned to him or her during his or her shift or tour of duty. He or she provides direct patient care and administers medication under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or the Home Health Director/Supervisor and provides private duty and/or staff relief services. The LPN reports to the Home Health Director/Supervisor, Office Administrator, Staffing Coordinator, and Facility Charge Nurse and regularly works and interacts with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
The ideal candidate has or must be able to:
Completed high school and a state-approved course of study for Practical Nurse training and holds a current unencumbered license as a Practical Nurse with the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
He or she must obtain a qualifying score on a pharmacology exam given by Care Advantage Inc., and must demonstrate satisfactory skill in administering medications under supervision.
The LPN must have satisfactory references from previous and/or current employers and must have the communication and interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and others.
Fluent English speaking and writing skills
Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.
Maintains accurate and complete records of observations, treatments and care of patient.
Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
