Providence Village, part of Ascension Living, is looking for caring and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join the team! This gorgeous continuing care retirement community offers independent living, assisted living, long-term skilled nursing, rehabilitation and therapy.

Schedule

FT and PRN, 12 hr shifts, 7 p.m.-7 a.m. or 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

What You Will Do:

Provide basic bedside care to long term care patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, functioning within scope of license.

  • Contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by a Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.

  • Perform routine laboratory tests and simple therapeutic services.

  • Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self-care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.

  • Assure resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action as appropriate.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date, required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Escorts patients to exam room, prepares patients for examination and treatment and assists the practitioner, as requested. * Draws blood and prepares appropriate paperwork for laboratory pick-up. * Performs urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensures preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory. * Maintains exam rooms, lab area and treatment rooms clean and stocked, maintaining inventory of supplies and re-orders as needed. * Assists in medical record maintenance. * Performs front office clerical duties such as answering telephones, check-in, check-out and record processing. * Dispenses medications as directed by practitioner and in accordance with state regulations. * Maintains and operates all clinical equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures. * Performs ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director ( PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws) in accordance with established policies and procedures. * Performs other duties, as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: * Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical nursing program.Current registration/license in the state where employed.Successful completion of UDS, BAT, PFT, FIT, etc., certification. JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: * Minimum one year experience in occupational health nursing or related field.
