Position Summary

The role of the Registered Nurse

• Bed Control reports to the Director of Patient Access. This position is responsible for overseeing the placement of patients.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external clients to coordinate patient placement including transfers from outside facilities and direct patient admissions

• Communicate with internal clients regarding physician orders

• Utilize appropriate software to ensure proper patient placement according to physician orders

• Maintain effective and timely communication between appropriate personnel in regard to department staffing, patient accommodations, and departmental capacities

• Answer various telephones and record required data

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR, required.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in an acute clinical nursing environment.
