Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you have a strong desire to serve others. In your role at the Good Samaritan Society, you will provide resident care, document health needs and changes, assist staff RNs and leadership, and communicate with residents and families to provide a welcoming care experience.

What you'll do: A typical day will include overseeing routine care for those we serve, working closely with a staff RN to administer medications, and documenting each resident's daily care, movement and hygiene. You'll listen when residents and their families have questions or concerns, and be a champion when they experience personal victories.

Your role also will include direct resident care at times, helping residents with all necessary personal care. You'll help as needed with transferring, repositioning and walking using correct and appropriate techniques and equipment.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure for state of practice is required.

Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities; knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.

Qualifications You will be responsible for: * Utilize the nursing process in the direction and administration of the Obstetrical, Newborn or Pediatric plan of care as appropriate. This performance is in compliance with established structure, standards, process standards and protocols under the supervision of the Nursing Director, Nurse Manager, Clinical Leader or ADON. * Formulates, implements and evaluates an individualized plan of care for each patient, based on identified needs/problems, in collaboration with the patient/significant others. * Assures the implementation of the prescribed medical regimen. * Assures the documentation of the patient's response to nursing plan of care in all areas of the medical record, in compliance with established nursing standards and protocols. * Prescribes delegates and coordinates all nursing care as defined by and provided throughout the hospital. * Contributes to the monitoring of the quality and appropriateness of patient care delivered.
