Position:

LPN Full-Time (Days)

Medical Surgical Unit

POSITION PURPOSE

The LPN delivers care based on patient needs appropriate for the adults, and geriatric patients. He/she demonstrates an interest in patient centered approach to total nursing care.

Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. The LPN shall be responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing as evidenced by state licensure.

Diploma or transcripts required upon hire.

Experience:

Two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment

Licenses/Certificates:

Current Tennessee License Practical Nurse license. BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross). ACLS

General Responsibilities

Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status or patients of Tennova Healthcare and their families.

Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.

Participate in Performance improvement activities.

Utilize the nursing process to oversee and provide age specific patient care.

Maintain the development, implementation and revision of individual performance plans.

Facilitate open channels of communication with managers, peers, staff, and physicians.

Counsels, coach, discipline and evaluate nurses and staff.

Educates and adhere to patient bill of rights.
