Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse performs selected nursing acts in the care of the ill, injured, or infirm patient under the direction of the Physician. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Practical Nursing program is required

  • Current License as a LPN in the State of Florida. BLS through American Heart Association required.

  • Ability to read and understand the English language. Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories. Knowledge of clinical and/or surgical operations and documentation. Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures.

  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.

  • Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids. Proficient with Computer skills.

  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written

The primary purpose of your position is to monitor clinical compliance with state and federal regulations. Job Function As a Wound Certified Treatment Nurse, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Duties include Act as a liaison between the Wound Specialist Physician and the nursing staff. Participate in the development and achievement of Wound Care Program and objectives. Staff development functions/responsibilities. Provide educational programming. Assist in the implementation of and monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice consistent with Corporate and external regulatory guidelines. Collaborate amongst Interdisciplinary Team to encompass all aspects of care to promote wound healing. Provide direct resident care in the assessment, treatment and follow up for wound management as ordered by the physician. Assist in the implementation of an individualized treatment plan for each assigned resident. Maintain ongoing communications with physicians concerning resident care. Assist surveyors and inspectors to facilitate regulatory compliance, as per the direction of the Director of Clinical Services. May be trained and assigned to perform the Customer Care Liaison duties as needed. You may be asked by the Director of Clinical Services to perform other duties.
