Minimum Education Required: Must be a graduate of a nursing program.
Minimum Experience Required: Prefer 1 year of l experience in an Ambulatory setting preferred
Licensure/Certification Required: Must Possess an maintain a current license in the Commonwealth of PA. Basic Life Support
Skills required (if applicable):
Knowledge to perform sterile technique and understands the principles of asepsis. Basic knowledge of endoscopy equipment and its functions. IV skills /Phlebotomy skills preferred.
Customer service skills required. Interpersonal, effective communication skills required.
Must be able to complete the establish orientation and educational requirements. Must possess the necessary acuities to perform the essential functions of the position. Must demonstrate ability to utilize hospital computer system and system specific to endoscopes. Must possess understanding and commitment to service excellence and performance improvement
The LPN administers direct patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. The LPN works collaboratively with all members of the patient interdisciplinary care team.
Participates in teaching and rehabilitation of the patients. The LPN observes, evaluates, records and contributes information to aid the RN in the development of the patient plan of care based on the age-specific criteria. The LPN assists the surgeon/ physician in performing procedures in the department.
He/She organizes the supplies, equipment and facilitates room set up for all procedures performed in the GI Lab. The LPN applies basic principles of asepsis and sterile techniques.
