Key Responsibilities

At this time, we are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team!


  • Institutes appropriate nursing intervention which might be required to stabilize a resident's condition and/or prevent complication.

  • Makes daily resident rounds to interview physical and emotional status and to implement any required nursing interventions.

  • Responds to resident and family concerns and ensures that each concern is documented and a resolution is initiated or communicated to appropriate staff.

  • Coordinates admission, discharge and transfer of residents.

  • Obtains report from nurse he or she is relieving, provides report to nurse coming on duty and keeps the charge nurse or others (as appropriate) informed about the status of residents and related matters.

  • Prepares, administer and documents medications following accepted practices.

  • Consults with licensed or registered nurse, physician or licensed independent practitioner.

  • Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Current Licensed L.P.N., preferably with experience in long-term care of geriatric nursing.

  • 2-4 Years of experience required.

  • Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

This position reports to the Chief of the System Project Development Section and works collaboratively with program staff to perform complex analytical and evaluative work of BOCM programs and projects to provide management with recommendations for making decisions and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of agency operations, particularly through Information Technology (IT) systems. Work involves analyzing and evaluating business operations, processes, and systems related to the program or project to determine the extent to which the goals and objectives are being met and to recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Work includes the assistance of gathering, organizing, and analyzing data, assisting with the development of solutions and recommendations for program changes and developing statistical or narrative reports.Description of Duties:</p><p>Actively assists with the hardware and software procurement process for BOCM and other bureaus under the Highway Administration deputate.</p><p>Actively manages the IT portfolio for BOCM and other bureaus under the Highway Administration deputate.</p><p>Assists in the development of Requests For Proposals (RFP), Request For Quotes (RFQ), Requests for Service (RFS), Statements of Work (SOW) and contractual conditions for system development projects.</p><p>Processes business partner registration agreements including follow-ups with customers to ensure proper and timely service.</p><p>Participates in the business process reengineering of specific engineering construction and design processes.</p><p>Acts as the Record Retention Liaison for the BOCM.</p><p>Uses data collection and research techniques to gather necessary information to make recommendations for changes or improvements.</p><p>Prepares reports, tables, charts, and graphs to assist in making recommendations for improving agency operations.</p><p>Participates in bureau wide automation initiatives and system development projects for the following (but not limited to) systems:</p><ul><li>Engineering and Construction Management System (ECMS 2 / ECMS Legacy)</li><li>Enterprise Content Services (ECS)</li><li>PennDOT Project Collaboration System (PPCC)</li><li>Highway Beautification Management System (HBMS)</li><li>Utility Relocation Management System (URMS)</li><li>Categorical Exclusion/Environmental Assessment Expert System (CEES)</li><li>Right of Way Expert System</li></ul><p>Participates in the following tasks:</p><ul><li><p>Development of cost benefit analyses</p></li><li><p>Gathering of stakeholder requirements</p></li><li><p>Implementation of application systems</p></li><li><p>User, system, and integration testing</p></li><li><p>Troubleshooting</p></li><li><p>User training</p></li><li><p>User support</p></li></ul><p>Assists in the development and maintenance of documentation such as planning documents, policies, procedures, manuals, and forms.</p><p>Responds to inquiries regarding program information.</p><p>Identifies, creates and provides user training needs for various systems.</p><p>Assists in the preparation of presentations.</p><p>Provides user security administration by assuring user access documentation is prepared and received by the Department.</p><p>Aids developers, programmers, and internal and external users in the definition of systems policies and procedures for BOCM systems.</p><p>Performs other job-related assignments as required.</p><p>Interested in learning more? In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.
