Murdoch is currently recruiting for a licensed Practical Nurse in Royall Cottage. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct clinical services and medication and treatment administration. This LPN performs and documents nursing procedures and techniques as prescribed by the physician and outlined in the Person-Centered Plan. This LPN performs duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This LPN works with the RN in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. We offer flexible shifts and pay additions for hours worked:

  • ParkviewCottage serves a geriatric population. Most have multiple handicaps, including visual and auditory impairments and significant medical needs associated with the aging process. Many require the assistance of a wheelchair or walker. Programs focus on reducing the rate of loss of skills that accompany the physical aspects of the aging process. Much time is devoted to providing the necessary medical / nursing services that the elderly require.

  • Royall Cottage serves an adult population. Most have multiple handicaps, including mobility, visual and auditory impairments, and significant medical needs. Programs at Royall cottage focus on developing new skills while maintaining and refining existing skills. Medical concerns include seizure disorders, gastrointestinal problems, neurogenic bladders, and chronic respiratory problems.

Scheduled work hours/shift: Weekend Option- 12 hour shifts 6:30am-7pm. Scheduleadjustments as needed/requested.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);

(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;

(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

This Sign-on Bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire. Additional information regarding the Sign-on Policy can be foundhere.
