Position Description

This position implements loss prevention and safety programs, overseeing and coordinating processes to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment. In addition, this position will train and provide mentorship around safety and loss prevention for teams of individual contributors in multiple store locations. An individual in this position may on occasion need to respond to potentially violent and/or physical altercations and will therefore need the ability to make quick, effective decisions and maintain an appropriate level of composure. Also required to audit review safety reports, conduct inspections to maintain compliance with OSHA and corporate policy safety guidelines and policies (HazMat, local and regional compliance, etc.)

Job Requirements

Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant work experience (i.e., retail or loss prevention) OR Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Business, or related loss prevention field.

National certified training program (Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training).

Professional accreditation, such as LPQ, LPC, or equivalent experience desired.
2 years of experience directly or indirectly supervising employees including coaching, mentoring, directing, training, performance management, and recognition.
2 years of experience as a Manager in a retail environment.
1 year of experience conducting quality reviews/audits.

Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (P&L, exception reports, etc.).

Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations (has conducted multiple retail investigations).

Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.).

JOB DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Responsible to protect life and property through combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires, and providing emergency medical service (EMS) activities often performed under conditions which require strenuous physical exertion. Additional duties include participation in code enforcement activities performed by fire prevention, supervised drills, and training in firefighting and EMS skills. Some time is spent in special and routine maintenance of equipment and apparatus and routine care of buildings and grounds, as well as public education activities. Work is normally performed under close supervision in accordance with well-defined procedures, and is inspected in process and upon completion by a Fire Captain. Occasionally, employees in this class may be required to relieve an officer of higher rank and when so assigned, are responsible for the management of all station programs and the supervision of assigned fire stations and equipment. Employees in this position may be assigned to work on special assignments which call for special abilities and knowledge attained through experience and training. Responsible to attend, comprehend and pass annual training requirements necessary to maintain required certifications and licenses.
