Position DescriptionThis position implements loss prevention and safety programs, overseeing and coordinating processes to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment. In addition, this position will train and provide mentorship around safety and loss prevention for teams of individual contributors in multiple store locations.

An individual in this position may on occasion need to respond to potentially violent and/or physical altercations and will therefore need the ability to make quick, effective decisions and maintain an appropriate level of composure. Also required to audit review safety reports, conduct inspections to maintain compliance with OSHA and corporate policy safety guidelines and policies (HazMat, local and regional compliance, etc.)Job RequirementsRequires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant work experience (i.e., retail or loss prevention) OR Bachelor's Degree.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Business, or related loss prevention field.National certified training program (Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training).Professional accreditation, such as LPQ, LPC, or equivalent experience desired.2 years of experience directly or indirectly supervising employees including coaching, mentoring, directing, training, performance management, and recognition.2 years of experience as a Manager in a retail environment.1 year of experience conducting quality reviews/audits.Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (P&L, exception reports, etc.).Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations (has conducted multiple retail investigations).Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.).

General Summary: Assumes leadership role with accountability for maximizing store business results by consistently creating exceptional Customer experiences. Associate and Team Development: Recruits, selects, trains, develops and retains high performing and productive managers and sales associates. Provides development opportunities for associates that support company growth. Writes and conducts annual performance evaluation for associates. Develops associate schedules and processes payroll. Coordinates all management candidate and new hire process (paperwork, offers, etc). Communicates and ensure compliance to Company Policies and Procedures. Communicates information provided in the various Company communication materials (Footnotes, memos, e-mails, etc) Merchandising: Ensures store appearance and visual standards/presentation that are consistent with the DSW brand image. Responds to business trends by communicating information to District Manager as needed. Ensures store is compliant with established "Brand Experience" standards Operations: Manages resources to maximize financial goals. Fosters knowledge and integrity with regard to compliance with company policy in all practices. Effectively uses resources and business partners to resolve issues with a sense of passion. Recognizes when to change strategic direction to attain and sustain maximum results. Educates team on the link between operational integrity and its' impact on facilitating an exceptional Customer experience. Oversees daily store cleaning, recovery, maintenance and inventory. Uses monthly Ops Assessment to identify and correct operational deficiencies in the store.
