Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Instructional Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive English language arts instruction, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

  • Facilitate engaging math lessons that promote conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

  • Integrate hands-on science experiences and experiments to spark curiosity and exploration.

  • Design and implement project-based learning activities that encourage creativity, collaboration, and inquiry.

  • Incorporate socioemotional learning into daily instruction, fostering students' social skills, self-awareness, and empathy.

  • Introduce students to fundamental social studies concepts through interactive lessons and discussions.

  • Implement responsive classroom practices to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Student Management:

  • Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.

  • Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement, reinforcing positive behaviors and addressing challenges with empathy and understanding.

  • Foster a love for learning and a growth mindset among young learners.

  • Communicate regularly with students and families to share progress, achievements, and areas for growth.

Administrative and Professional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, instructional goals, and assessment practices.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay current with best practices.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and improvement plans.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment data.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission and values of Yew Chung International School.

  • Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating enthusiasm, professionalism, and a passion for teaching and learning.

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community outreach efforts as needed.

  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by school administration.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • Strong content knowledge and pedagogical expertise in early childhood education.

  • Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate instructional materials and activities.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team, including co-teaching experience.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Valid teaching credential or licensure.

  • Experience teaching in a bilingual or multicultural environment is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Clearances, Testing, and/or Bonding Required:

  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Completion of background checks and health screenings.

  • CPR and pediatric first aid certification preferred.

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
