In Customer Care, we are focused on delivering the desired customer experience for each of our customers. Everything we do starts with the customer and our information about the customer. Within Customer Care, PG&E's Customer Energy Solutions department (CES) is responsible for designing, implementing and administering customer demand side management programs, including energy efficiency, distributed generation, demand response, and rate programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses. PG&E has been a national leader in energy efficiency since 1976 and continues to recruit and develop individuals to carry the CES Department's legacy of effective energy efficiency programs on into the future.
Within CES, the Low Income and Disadvantaged Communities (LI&DAC) team is responsible for PG&E Low Income programs and DAC strategies. oversees the implementation and day-to-day operations of PG&E's Low Income programs; California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) and the Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) program. The Low Income Programs have been providing income qualified customers assistance in lowering their energy consumption and costs while increasing their comfort, health, and safety since 1983 and has been providing rate assistance, through a monthly discount, to qualifying customers since 1989.
The LI&DAC Implementation team manages the day-to-day implementation and operations of PG&E's low income programs. The Implementation team is looking for a talented summer intern to help progress the team in the area of Knowledge Storage Best Practices in support of promoting efficient and thorough knowledge sharing.
Reviewing current shared drive documentation structure and practices
Determining the gaps of the current practices along with best practices of knowledge storage
Developing recommendations for changes and best practices for shared drive use
Training employees and creating job aides on new approach and best practices
Overseeing the implementation to the new approach and best practices
Collaborating with the Implementation Supervisor in determining the Wiki structure in support of publishing an LI&DAC Implementation Playbook
Implementing the Wiki structure
Training employees and creating job aides in support creating Wiki pages
The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced program managers. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Low Income and Disadvantaged Communities organization through the work they will be performing.
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
Experience in gather data, analyzing, and providing recommendations
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
Strong problem solving and analytical skills to develop insights and recommendations
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
Experience with creating Wiki pages
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
