A day in the life

As a Uniformed Service Ambassador in
Loss Prevention, youll

Greet
customers in a timely, professional and personable manner by providing eye
contact, smiling, nodding, etc. in your designated boundaries

Maintain
your professional visible presence by wearing the Nordstrom provided
security officer style uniform. This uniform resembles uniforms normally
worn by private security guards

Maintain
the general safety of customers, employees and the store

Respond
to customers needs, provide accurate information and direct them as
needed

Perform
monitoring and surveillance activities

Assess
and assist in emergency situations

Reduce
and control loss of inventory through audits, training and education

Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Have a demonstrated track record for engaging with
customers in a polite, professional
way.Welcome
and engage with customers in an upbeat, positive way.Maintain
an awareness of merchandise available in the departments so you can direct
customers as needed. Can
maintain an active, visible floor presence as a deterrent in designated

a calm head when dealing with overall store safety issues, including but
not limited to; dealing with suspects who engage in aggressive theft and/or
behavior

all about accountability, initiative and having a high level of ownership

working a flexible schedule, which can include nights and weekends and is
based on store needs.

Job Summary: As the Department Manager, you drive profitable sales growth by planning and executing company merchandising direction to drive sales and deliver standard operating procedure execution in your department (i.e. markdowns, signage, replenishment, and marketing). As the subject matter expert for all brand merchandising training, product standard operating procedures, tools and resources, you are also responsible for holding others accountable for meeting merchandising standards and productivity expectations. Your department consistently represents brand standards and company strategies. You are responsible for flexing to drive profitability based on our brand's merchandising principles and financial analysis. You are responsible for knowing and executing all company product knowledge and strategies. You play a critical leadership role within your store, leading both direct and indirect reports to positively impact the team, operations and profitability of the store. You own the development of those that report to you. As an Old Navy leader, your first priority is to contribute to the success of your store. This means that you not only deliver in your role as the Department Manager, but you also model leadership behaviors and deliver as a manager on duty. As the Manager on Duty, you deliver results during your assigned time, drive key performance indicators and brand loyalty by leading through your team. You make decisions and collaborate with other members of your store leadership team to prioritize work based on business needs and company direction.
