Loss Prevention Detective

  • Conduct surveillance to detect loss within a store environment.

  • Conduct physical security checks. Make recommendations for ways to prevent loss.

  • Conduct safety inspections and communicates hazards to Management.

  • Participate in the training of new hire Associates to address the areas of Loss Prevention.

  • Take an active role in identifying all forms of loss, motivating shortage control involvement and helping to identify creative shortage control solutions.

  • Responsible for heightening store Loss Prevention awareness.

  • Install and utilize CCTV equipment.

  • Learn and use the latest in advanced interviewing and interrogation techniques.

  • Work in a multi-unit work environment.

  • This is an entry level position. This is an ideal position for those looking to grow and develop their loss prevention career in a multi-level loss prevention structure where opportunities to move into investigations, district management and more are possible.

  • A strong desire for a career in Retail Loss Prevention.

  • The ability to work independently.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience or a Criminal Justice background is a plus.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS a) Certification: Required - Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or certification as a Registered Medical Assist (RMA) by American Medical Technologies or certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association or certification as a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA/NCCT) by National Center for Competency Testing.b) License: Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification or within 90 days of hire.c) Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred.d) Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing, and questions with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.e) Demonstrates excellent skills in caring for population served. Uses problem solving processes to make decisions related to patient care. Responds appropriately in emergency situations.f) Demonstrates good customer service and leadership skills. Effectively utilizes conflict resolution skills. Functions well as part of a patient care team.g) Demonstrates good organization skills and ability to successfully multitask with frequent interruptions.h) Demonstrates effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills and use of proper grammar and spelling.i) Demonstrates good telephone and keyboarding skills.
