Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking LOSS PREVENTION ASSOCIATES. Our LP officers allow us to contribute to our company's core purpose of providing unparalleled service, systems and solutions to serve, secure and care for the people and businesses of our communities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma (or GED) required

  • Must obtain/maintain state security licensing and any other state requirements - firearms permit not needed

  • Previous Law Enforcement or Military preferred or prior retail Loss Prevention experience

  • Undercover experience a plus
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff and management
  • Good decision making under pressure
  • Ability to evaluate circumstances and make timely decisions based on company apprehension guidelines
  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel to store locations within 25 miles of home

  • Ability to work retail store hours - to work evening and weekends

  • Possesses general operating knowledge of retail security camera equipment

  • Must be able to stand/walk sales floor for entire scheduled shift

  • Must have a good track record of reliability and punctuality

  • We are looking for experienced Loss Prevention Associates that have a background in the apprehension of shoplifters. Previous security experience or former military/ law enforcement encouraged to apply*

This role reports to the Director, Loss Prevention, and responsible for protecting company assets and increasing profitability through the preventive analysis identification, response and management of risks within the company. The Loss Prevention Manager works cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast paced and demanding environment in a professional manner that reflects the values and standards of the organization's missions and goals. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Applies security concepts, reviews information, executes defined tasks, and analyzes requirements with focus on exception analysis reporting, and implementation of Loss Prevention practices and procedures company wide to ensure a safe working environment. * Performs internal and external investigations to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities, and recommends corrective actions for violations against established guidelines.• Provide basic and fundamental Loss Prevention training and development for all levels of operation management.• Partners with local and state law enforcement agencies in the arrest and prosecution of unlawful activities.• Develops, implements, and manages tools, techniques, and reporting, for the adequate prevention, detection, and mitigation of potential and actual fraud, theft, and other illegal or unethical activities, and losses.• Improves processes and procedures for the proper identification, analysis, and tracking of company wide fraud losses. This includes but not limited to providing periodic reports, making adequate recommendations for loss mitigation purposes and the enhancement of the program, and collaborating awareness of current industry trends as well as internal cross functional collaboration other areas to determine existing fraud trends by analyzing accounts and transaction patterns.• Employs critical thinking skills to analyze various data points, identify, and mitigate emerging fraud trends.• Strong technical and analytical skillset will understand business trends, key KPIs used by business, and how those business practices could be used. Data analysis may include financial and technology resources such as exception reporting, sales audit, store operations metrics and IT reports.• Evaluates and provides guidance on physical security needs, e.g., CCTV, Alarm system, vaults/safes, electronic and manual door-locking devices for loss avoidance, suspicious activities, and incidents.• Utilizes independent judgment and adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality. AccountabilityUnderstand, adhere to and enforce all corporate policies including, but not limited to, Code of Ethics and Information Security Policies. Supervision Exercised: None Level of Supervision Received: Minimal Responsibility / Authority(A) Equipment: Laptop(B) Money: No cash handling Qualifications Equivalent Education Level Required: AA in Criminal Justice or related field, Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) and/or Certified Forensic Interview (CFI) preferred. Experience Required: 5+ years of Loss Prevention experience in a multi-unit environment, or relevant risk experience in the banking, financial services, or other related industry. Behavioral analysis training; Reid or Wicklander-Zulawski certification in interviewing/interrogation training. Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills. Must have track record of solid work ethics, reliability, accountability, and integrity. Knowledge Required: Ability to have excellent written and verbal communications skills and has strength in building relationships and collaborating across the organization. As would be needed to communicate in person, by phone, and through email; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information. Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products. Ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to work alone in stressful situations. Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational loss and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
