What you'll do at Cascade:

How you'll do it:

As the Loss Mitigation Underwriter, you are responsible for underwriting loss mitigation packages to ensure they meet all required regulatory and business guidelines, both retention or liquidation options.

• Determine borrower's ability to afford a loan modification based upon proprietary, GSE, HUD, VA and USDA criteria

• Reporting all default and foreclosure prevention activity to FHA and VA through FHA Connection and Valeri

• Calculate modification principal balance capitalization for approved retention options, taking into account past due interest, escrow and 3rd party advances

• Maintain strict adherence to all client guidelines, state and federal laws and regulatory requirements, including compliance policies and timelines

• Establish a strong working relationship with the Collections Manager and Director to develop and execute training and Audit Programs

What you'll need:

• 5 years of loss mitigation experience working FHA, VA, Freddie, and USDA loans

• Evars and FHA Connection and Valeri reporting experience

• Advance knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, Reg Z, REG X, and RESPA

• General knowledge of underwriting and loss mitigation compliance requirements

• Ability to work independently with little supervision

• Ability to adjust easily to work needs based on employee, management, or business needs.

• Excellent listening, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to work as a team member and follow directions.

• Actively look for ways to help borrowers, employees and management.
