This role will work in our brand-new Headquarters in the RiNo Arts District in Denver, CO.

What you'll do:

As Looker BI Developer, you will be responsible for managing the architecture, design, and support of self-service analytics and reporting. This role will work closely with sales, operations, product managers, and senior leadership to define metrics that will drive actionable insights. As Looker Developer, you are a visionary leader tasked with synthesizing complex data structures into appealing and digestible explorations. Your goal is to create a self-service environment users will visit to codelessly gain deep understanding about the business, and make data-informed decisions central to our company mission. You will be primarily developing LookML, Looker reports, supporting Looker self-serve and training users, while also supporting Oracle Analytics and complex Excel reports.

Skills and experience for success:

  • 3 + years in a Business Intelligence role

  • 2+ years where your primary responsibility is creating self-service content within an Enterprise BI tool such as Looker, Oracle Analytics, MicroStrategy, or Qlik

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Superior analytical, problem-structuring, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong, demonstratable SQL and data profiling

  • Knowledge of core data warehouse concepts

  • Dashboard development with a keen eye for design

  • Flexibility to support and develop in a variety of BI tools: Oracle Analytics, Looker, complex Excel dashboards, and occasionally Tableau

  • Passion for innovation, analytics and solving new challenges every day

  • Hunger for learning, self-starter

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Day to day tasks: * Contribute to the design and development of a reporting database, using ETL tools like Informatica and Data Factory and platforms such as MS SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and Snowflake. * Assist in the ongoing development of technical best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing and other ETL-related activities. * Assist in the development and execution of data models. * Actively inspect and maintain a high level of data reliability, efficiency, and quality, within our data environment. * Document processes, definitions, and data structures. * Understand, document, and solution around business data problems and opportunities * Design, develop and maintain data structures that support diverse initiatives. Required Skills: * Strong technical acumen and ability to learn quickly on the job. * Passion and internal drive for solving data related challenges * Understanding of SQL within any of the industry leading platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and the ability to extract and mold data using complex SQL queries. * High degree of analytical intelligence, with strong attention to detail. * Must be self-directed and have a persistent hunger for new skills and techniques * Conceptual understanding of data warehousing, ERDs, and star schemas. * Experience with Python and PowerShell. * Ability to break-down complex business problems and recommend strategic solutions * Ability to interact and communicate effectively within a dynamic and diverse team environment Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience with database development, data curation, ETL processes, or any other related disciplines. * Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science or related field. * Prior experience with Informatica or Data Factory is significant plus. * Prior work experience related to data analytics and/or database development is a plus.
