Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Virtual School Coordinator

Southwest Local School District is searching for a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for our Virtual School Coordinator position. This postion will start in September.

Job Description:

• Long-Term Sub for William Henry Harrison High School

• Will maintain the virtual school coordinator's caseload of up to 40 students working virtually through Edgenuity.

• This is position is from September to November and is in person.

Salary Schedule:

Days 1-10 - $105 per day

Days 11-20 - $125 per day

Days 21 - 59 - $150

Day 60+ - Teacher salary contract for the remainder time served

Teacher hired will be paid for the first 59 days through HCESC's Aesop Substitute Teaching System. Candidate must also apply through www.Subsolutions.org.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the virtual school coordinator's caseload of up to 40 students working virtually through Edgenuity.

• Responsible for the monitoring of work, finalization of grades, and frequent communication with students and families regarding attendance and progress.

• Provide an ongoing system of performance evaluation based upon formal and informal assessment techniques and data collection.

• Provide training in appropriate modes of communication which will facilitate a student's functioning in the virtual setting.

• Provide ongoing communication with parents in addition to periodic reported based on school calendar and written form and conferencing in conjunction with professionals involved in the student's education.

• Adhere to and be knowledgeable of all provisions outlined in federal, state, and local guidelines for evaluation, identification, placement, and educational programming for special education students.

• Work as an integral team member with related services specialists, professionals from outside agencies and parents in implementing a student's IEP.

• Provide a safe learning environment in the virtual classroom setting.

• Working knowledge of Ohio Extended Standards.

Qualification Profile:

• Certification/License

• Must be proficient in Edgenuity, DASL, and familiar with online learning.

• Passing Background and Fingerprint examination

Additional Duties:

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
