+STEPS TEACHER - POSITION IS FROM August - November 2024
Job Summary: The +STEPS Special Education Teacher will work in the district's substantially separate preschool program. Grade levels included are Pre-K. Work is performed under the supervision of the Preschool Coordinator or Director of Pupil Personnel Services.

Experience working with young children and children diagnosed with Autism and/or students with significant social/emotional/behavioral disorder(s)
Instruct students in academic subjects, using a variety of techniques such as phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition, in order to reinforce learning and to meet students' varying needs and interests.
ABA experience- implementing behavior plans, teaching using ABA methodology in discrete trial and incidental contexts
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certified (provided by the district)
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established district procedures and curriculum frameworks
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and policies of the school district
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use data to adjust teaching strategies
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
Prepare the classroom for class activities
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
Observe and evaluate students' performance and development
Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds
Participate in professional development activities in and outside the district
Any other relative duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal or Principal
