Qualifications:
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Pennsylvania certification for the position
Bachelor's degree required
Valid PA certification specific to content area: Grades PK-4
Demonstrated knowledge in content area of Reading/Language Arts
Ability to effectively present information to adult learners, including teachers and parent
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret curriculum guidelines, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and lesson plans
Ability to respond appropriately to questions from students, parents, and all level of administrative staff.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff, and outside professional contracts
Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements

Salary 2024-2025 School Year:
Full salary matrix is available in the appendix of the following collective bargaining agreement, which can be accessed by clicking here. Placement upon salary scale is dependent upon education and years of teaching service.
Schedule:
7.5 hours per day based upon district-approved calendar

Income Protection Benefit
Pays 60% of your basic monthly pay, up to $2,800 per month
Tuition Reimbursement
75% of tuition if grade if B or better is attained; limit 12 credits per year.
Induction Program
All new teachers, including Long Term Substitutes (LTS), will participate in the DASD Induction Program. The district offers a one- or two-year program depending on the number of years of prior professional experience within PA public schools.
