PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
●Teaches English full-time to students in grades 11-12.
●Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the competency-based course of study common to all teachers, as specified in state law, administrative regulations, and procedures of the school district.
●Develop lesson plans, maintain a plan book, and organize class time so that preparation, instruction, shop work, and clean-up activities can be accomplished within the allotted time.
●Delivers instruction to students in accordance with the Curriculum Frameworks issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
●Grades and monitors student progress through the use of progress reports and report cards.
●Communicates with parents, and school counselors on individual pupil progress.
●Attends special education individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, where the teacher's presence is required.
●Promotes the learning and growth of all students through ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice.
●Provides supervision and extra help to students where needed.
●Attends meetings as required by the teacher contracts.
●Performs other duties assigned by the Superintendent-Director.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require long periods of standing and lifting for long periods. The Individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights found in computer monitors and copying equipment.

Temporary (Medical Leave)
EVALUATION:
As per the Teachers' Contract.QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Licensure by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to teach English (9-12) preferred.
2.Must demonstrate the ability to work with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the public in creating an atmosphere where individuals feel welcome and respected.
3.Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
4.Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
5.Must be comfortable using computers and software.
6.Prior teaching experience preferred.
7.May have such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent-Director deems appropriate and acceptable.
