The Housatonic Valley Regional High School seeks a dedicated, experienced, Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our Agriculture Science and Technology Education program. We are looking for someone passionate about agricultural sciences, technology, and education, who can engage students and maintain our program's high standards.

Duration: August 21, 2024 - November 22, 2024

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach various agriculture and technology courses, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

• Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with curriculum standards.

• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

• Manage classroom resources and equipment effectively.

• Work with other educators and staff to support student learning and school events.

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.

Qualifications:

• Connecticut certification in the appropriate discipline or certification eligible preferred, Agricultural Education (040 or 041).

• If not certified, candidates must be eligible to apply for the State of CT ED175 Long Term Sub over 40 days authorization.

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree

• Specialization in mechanics and engineering is a bonus.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to engage and inspire students in the classroom.

• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment.
