Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Logistics/Facilities Analyst will be to assist with the facilities operations, maintenance, and recapitalization in support of an industrial equipment modernization initiative for a large U. S. Army organization, with multiple major subordinate commands, and over 20 military installations.

Assist with the assessment, inventory database management, and recapitalization planning for over 100,000 pieces of major industrial equipment, and the execution of a strategic and technical review of industrial equipment and processes valued at over $250,000 per item. Assist installations with determining deficiencies and developing plans to recommend improvements based on equipment and process requirements, and to prioritize the most critical repair projects for execution. Provide support for an existing integrated planning team with staff from various supervisory and subordinate organizations, to analyze equipment maintenance, replacement plans, and future workload projection impacts.

Typical Functions

Conduct facility and infrastructure requirements analyses and capacity assessments

Assist with developing a Capital Investment Strategy

Assist with conducting an inventory assessment and evaluation to support the Equipment Modernization Initiative and improve the planning and programming of future facility and equipment requirements

Evaluate and validate existing equipment inventory, including capabilities, age, condition, service life, current value, replacement value, and other data required for modernization

Define equipment portfolios

Utilize existing government databases, and develop new databases as required to best analyze and manage equipment inventory and capital investment projects

Review database system reports for data accuracy, investigate anomalies found, and resolve issues as required

Assist with developing recommendations to improve the planning and programming processes for major industrial equipment operations, maintenance, recapitalization, and efficiency

Identify and recommend new technologies that can be utilized to drive new equipment requirements and improve process efficiencies

Successfully collaborate in the exchange of information between stakeholders through effective written, and verbal communication

Review project submittals, including project scope, work classification, and cost estimates

Review, evaluate, and provide comments recommending corrective actions to staff for incorporation into project justification documents

Assist with managing a project tracking system to provide overall management, status reporting, and execution tracking of projects
