Logistics Technician

The LOGS Technician is a highly specialized position that is under the supervision of the Facilities Manager. The LOGS Technician is required to perform a wide variety of responsibilities and tasks throughout the MFRI facility, technical and administrative in nature, for the upkeep and maintenance of the MFRI facilities.

The work requires the composition of specialized equipment. Employee in this class establish and maintain close liaison with regional personnel, with officials of other agencies and with the general public. The contacts range from simple screening of visitors and inquiries to the interpreting and enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the operation of training facilities and equipment within the limits set by the supervisor.

Knowledge of firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials and EMS techniques. Knowledge of mathematics and computer software programs. Maintains contact with all laws, codes and other requirements dealing with high pressure air systems and air quality standards on federal, state and local levels. This position is based out of the MFRI Headquarters office in College Park, MD but travel to and from six other Regional Training Centers located in Maryland will be required.
